About

Matthew Bethell, LMFT

Wellbeing is not just the absence of symptoms, it’s about connection. I see therapy as a relationship, where someone can be authentically themselves, be seen in a genuine way, and be accepted. I believe growth takes both insight and courage, and I’m here to help you develop both at a pace that feels right for you.

My Approach

My approach identifies that chaos and rigidity exist on extremes, and mental wellbeing is found in psychological flexibility. We know we are in a state of flexibility when one is able to choose what they hold in awareness with intention and make value-based decisions. I use Existential, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology frameworks to help clients think and experience the world differently for the purpose of helping them claim a stronger sense of agency over their lives.
